ABOUT

I come from a family of bone-setters in the Dai tradition of southern Yunnan. My grandmother practiced for 45 years as the village healer in our community, and I apprenticed under her from the age of twelve until her passing in 2018. In those fifteen years I learned the manual techniques, herbal preparations, and clinical observations that our family has passed down for at least four generations. Since 2019, I have been recognized by the Xishuangbanna community council as the village medicine practitioner, continuing to serve several surrounding villages. My work focuses on musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain that has not responded to hospital treatments, and post-injury recovery using traditional Dai methods. I joined Rebirthealth because I believe there are people outside my physical reach who could benefit from the knowledge my family carries. I cannot promise what modern hospitals promise, but I can offer a different way of reading the body that sometimes finds what scans and blood tests miss.

LINEAGE & TRAINING

Trained under my grandmother, Niang Somphet, who was the village bone-setter for 45 years in Menglun township, Xishuangbanna. My apprenticeship began at age 12 and continued until her passing in 2018 — fifteen years of daily practice under direct supervision. During this period, I learned the full range of Dai traditional bone-setting techniques, including manual reduction of simple fractures, joint manipulation for chronic misalignment, herbal poultice preparation using locally grown plants, and the palpation assessment methods unique to our family lineage. In 2019, the Xishuangbanna Dai Medicine Preservation Committee recognized me as a qualified village medicine practitioner, authorizing me to continue my grandmother's practice for the surrounding communities.

CASE EVIDENCE

Case · anonymized

A 62-year-old farmer came to me with chronic lower back pain that had not improved after two years of hospital treatments including injections and physical therapy. Using Dai manual techniques, I worked with him twice a week for three months. By the end, he reported being able to carry moderate loads again — something he had not done in over a year. His local practitioner confirmed improved range of motion. Verified by Rebirthealth against the original client's release.

A 45-year-old woman with a frozen shoulder that had persisted for eight months after a fall. Hospital imaging showed no fracture, and conventional physiotherapy had plateaued. Over six weeks of Dai joint manipulation combined with herbal heat compresses, she regained approximately 80% of her pre-injury range of motion. She was able to return to her work as a weaver. A 58-year-old with chronic knee pain on both sides, told by two orthopedic surgeons that knee replacement was the only option. Through a combination of herbal poultice applications and specific weight-bearing exercises adapted from Dai rehabilitation traditions, we worked together for four months. The pain decreased enough that she was able to walk her daily market route again without assistance. She chose to delay surgery. Verified by Rebirthealth.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

6 of 7 clients marked this advisor's work as "what they hoped for"

She understood my pain in a way that felt physical, not just clinical. The improvement was slow but real, and she never overpromised.

I was skeptical at first, but the results spoke for themselves. My shoulder works again.
